India , is the home to varieties of #handloom weaves. Handloom sector is the most significant part of the cultural heritage of India and it can not be lost in the pages of time.Handloom sector is a symbol of the country’s glorious cultural heritage. August 7 is chosen as the National Handloom Day to commemorate the Swadeshi Movement which was launched on this day in 1905 in Calcutta Town Hall to protest against the partition of Bengal by the British Government. The movement had aimed at reviving domestic products and production processes.

It's a day to salute to weavers and others in the industry to promote the handmade and the handwoven. The sector is key to women empowerment as over 70% of handloom weavers and allied workers are women.

ADiBha @theadibha, started with a mission to promote the cratsmanship of our weavers and support #sambalpurihandloom. Our journey was so enriching from the beginning, working with the artisans. Be a part of our journey and never ending stories from the 'Mangasala' (place where weaver keep the major weaving tool, Manga)
